    Visión

I never imagined what God had in store for my life.  Five years ago I accepted Christ as my savior by way of a dream.  Jesus spoke to me and said "I have chosen you as a messenger to the nations."  I cried like never before.  Because I felt incapable, I felt angry with God, but God clearly spoke to me again and said "Renew yourself and get up, fly like an eagle."  These words gave me strength and energy.  I knew that God had a purpose for my life, and since then I started to serve God in the area of youth as I had felt was my calling.  I will...

When I visited Seeds of New Creation (Seeds) in San Salvador, El Salvador for the first time in 2011, I immediately felt that there was so much that I could learn from the organization and transformational network. In the middle of 2013, when a position opened up at Seeds, I also began to envision how I could contribute to the ministry.  I also felt a strong need and desire to understand the realities of El Salvador, a country full of so many paradoxes. God (and many friends) encouraged me to apply for the position at Seeds.  I pray that God would be glorified in my work at Seeds, that I would learn much and that God would continue to break my heart as I learn to better love my neighbor.

This was a point of tension in our marriage. We knew God wanted us at Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois (where we’ve been since 2000), but there was always a nagging sense that there was more to do. So in 2009, we spent a year at LCC...

What happens if you take a plant, no matter how fruitful and thriving, and plunk it in a new place, where temperatures, rainfall, and soil bear no resemblance to those of its native land? Even if it did survive, the plant is highly unlikely to yield much fruit. Likewise, theology, publications, models of church life and Christian discipleship need to grow out of local soil if they are to engender and nourish new life.

Some Christians wonder why so many missionaries in the country which over 90 % (* 93 % by Pew Research Organization, 2011) are already Christians. Of course, these Christians are mainly Roman Catholics (81%): the third-largest Catholic population in the world, behind Brazil and Mexico. About one-in-ten Filipinos (11%) are Protestant. About 1% of the population of the Philippines belongs to other Christian groups. One of the largest non- Protestant Christian groups in the country is Iglesia ni Cristo, a non-Trinitarian indigenous church...
