Serve God's people by making the process of learning English fun for young children, teenagers, and young adults in Romania.
Organize and teach English to groups of young children, teenagers, and adults. Lessons are organized by level of English and age group. It is encouraged for volunteers to plan creative, non-formal lessons to keep learners engaged. Most of the students are church attendees, but not all. A translator will be present at beginner and young child lessons.
Native English Speaker, willingness to work with children and adults with low education level, have a humble approach to cross-cultural experiences (including religious experiences). It would be good for volunteers to be comfortable with walking to Betel and back from their apartment, about two miles each way. There are mini-busses that run through the city, but it's still good to be comfortable walking that much daily.

General orientation from CRWM is required and is May 31 – June 2, 2017 in Grand Rapids, MI; On-field orientation upon arrival. Other pre-field reading required.
Lupeni, Hunedoara county, Romania, located in the Jiu River Valley of the Southern Carpathian mountains. It is a 6-7 hour trip from the capital, Bucharest, by car, bus, or train. Volunteers will stay in an apartment in Lupeni that will be set up by the supervisor and is within close walking distance of the supervisor's apartment as well as local grocery stores. Volunteers will be housed together, so it is necessary that they are the same gender.
